General Manager Iain Milne has spent more than 30 years in the historic conservation industry working for both himself and for a number of highly respected contractors. Seeking an opportunity to develop his career and expand his experience base he teamed up with Peter Bennie Ltd to form Bennie Historic Conservation. Many of our clients have worked with Iain previously and we pride ourselves in repeat commissions from both clients and architects.
The business forms part of Peter Bennie Ltd which itself is part of The Bennie Group which was founded in 1941. Originally the company was started by Mr Peter Bennie himself and built up from his contract ploughing business during the war. It quickly expanded into quarrying and building and earthmoving contracting services.
The quarries based in the Midlands produce traditional building stone of the type which has been used as a construction material throughout the region for centuries. Building stone along with masonry and architectural products have therefore been produced and marketed by our sister company, Bennie Stone, within the group, for many years hence the connection with Bennie Historic Conservation.
